About ReflexologyThe practice of curing illness through the medium of tending the feet was commonplace amongst the ancient Egyptians, Far Eastern cultures and native North American Indians. For example Chinese Acupuncture finds six out of twelve major meridians (energy channels) beginning in the feet. Reflexology as we know it today began to take shape in the 1930s through the work of the now legendary reflexologist Eunice Ingham. She discovered that parts of the feet relate to particular organs, glands, systems and parts of the body. For example the big toe is related to the head area. The influx of wisdom from the East married to the pioneering insights of western reflexology mean that the feet are once again being seen as basic to well-being. My current clients have conditions which include the following: Headaches and migraine Stress related conditions Bowl disorders (constipation and IBS) Musculo-skeletal pain (backache, stiff neck, frozen shoulder, knee) Sinus problems Insomnia Asthma and other respiratory problems Arthritis MS Preventative health care Menstrual irregularities, PMT Menopausal Symptoms |
